The Country’s Most Dangerous Intersection is in Bucks County

Filed under: News by Contributor @ August 31, 2014

Time Magazine has unveiled its list of the most dangerous intersections in the United States, and a Bucks County intersection has been deemed the most dangerous of them all. The intersection of Street Road and Knights Road, in the vicinity of Byberry Road and Hulmeville Road, in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, was involved in 7 fatal crashes from 2002 to 2012, and had 144 crashes and 170 injuries or deaths in the 2 years leading up to a 2008 traffic audit. Time cited numerous contributing factors: bad signage, heavy and aggressive traffic, multiple breaks in the sidewalks that contribute to jaywalking, poor lighting, and a layout of cross streets that are not at right angles to each other. We have noted dangerous intersections in the area in past articles on this site, and ask that you comment below about other dangerous intersections in Bucks County, Montgomery County, and the greater Philadelphia region.
