Norristown Lawyer Greg Noonan Arrested and Jailed on Drug Charges

Filed under: News by Contributor @ December 20, 2013

Gregory Noonan, Esq., a 53 year-old Norristown lawyer, was arrested yesterday on drug charges. Noonan allegedly sold 179 Oxycodone pills directly to an undercover Philadelphia police officer on November 23, and again yesterday allegedly sold 180 30-milligram pills to the officer for $3,250. Both sales were reportedly in his car outside of his office. Noonan was arraigned today on two counts of felony delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of criminal use of a communications device. He was sent to Montgomery County prison in lieu of posting $250,000 bail, and his preliminary hearing will be January 3. Given the quantities alleged Mr. Noonan is likely facing the possibility of lengthy mandatory minimum state prison sentences.

This was not a good day for Montgomery County attorneys, as it has also been reported that all charges were held for further proceedings after the Preliminary Hearing for Bob Kerns, the former Montgomery County Republican Party Chairman charged with drugging and raping one of his employees after an office party at Radice in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Magisterial District Judge Sobeck recused himself from the proceedings which instead were held before a visiting Senior Judge.

Awesome! Explains a ton! That was my fiances lawyer who we never met with and didn’t show for court 2 times. Feeling like his plea was bogus from the beginning and tried to contact him numerous times. Guess his drug business was too important! I feel bad for all his clients including my fiancĂ© because clearly ( we all saw it even silow) that he wasn’t doing his job as a lawyer! Sad day!

How can the county allow this lawyer to accept pleas and go to trial knowing he was under investigation? Seems like his clients should have another shot! I mean we were told with RRRI my fiancĂ© would be out in 18 months, it’s 27! It affected his representation, we had a feeling he was in drugs but assumed it was legit. There should be some recourse for his recent clients.
