A Montgomery County Conshohocken weight loss doctor has been convicted of sexually assaulting 5 of his female patients.

Dr. Arie Oren, 66, of Lower Merion was found guilty by a jury of his peers on 4 counts of aggravated sexual assault and 5 counts of indecent assault. Oren faces a maximum sentence of 23 1/2 to 47 years in prison.

The first victim to come forward did so following what appeared to be a routine appointment with her weight loss doctor. During the visit, Oren removed the patient’s slacks and undergarments, and proceeded to sexually assault her with an electric massaging device. When Oren leaned in for a kiss, the patient left immediately and reported the incident to the authorities. While under investigation, other patients of Oren contacted the police, reporting similar behavior during appointments.

Additional reports revealed that Oren would cup patients’ breasts while taking their blood pressure and often touch them inappropriately.
