Montgomery County Installs Kiosks to Pay Court Fees

Filed under: Criminal Law, News by Contributor @ August 8, 2013

For some residents of Montgomery County, it just got a little bit easier to pay court fines, fees, and restitution. The county installed kiosks where users can pay their fees by way of cash or credit/debit card. Unfortunately for users, and like every other aspect of the criminal justice system, there will be a service fee charged for each payment made at a kiosk.

So far only three kiosks exist but the county hopes to add more. There are kiosks at the Swede Street entrance to the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, at the adult probation/DUI offices on Ross Road between Bridgeport and Upper Merion, and at the Montgomery County Annex in Willow Grove. Montgomery County also has plans to expand the use of the kiosks to include paying fees and fines in other counties and purchasing hunting and dog licenses.

Have you had any experience using one of these kiosks yet? If so, let us know what you think of them in the comment section!
