Lawyers Do The Most Pro Bono Work

Filed under: Uncategorized by Contributor @ October 19, 2013

Chalk one up for the lawyers out there…lawyers top the list of office professionals that provide the most hours of pro bono work each year.

The Taproot Foundation, which encourages the increase of pro bono work, generated for the first time ever a Professional Social Responsibility (PSR) ranking for various “office professions” (e.g. not doctors or teachers). The PSR ranks professions by the number of pro bono hours donated per professional per year, based on US Census data:

1. Legal
2. Management
3. Art, Design, Entertainment, Sports & Media
4. Architecture and Engineering
5. Business & Financial Operations
6. Computer and Mathematical Science
7. Sales and Related

On average, professionals donate five hours of pro bono work each year. Lawyers donate, on average, a whopping 25 hours of pro bono work each year. This goes to show how much good lawyers are doing for the communities they serve. To speak to one of our lawyers, contact Fairlie & Lippy today.
